What PassTheCalcs is

PassTheCalcs offers a free practice check for the calculations portion of the Texas electrician exams, built on the journeyman calculations outline, with optional worked solutions by email.

The site is also a demand test: we use it to learn whether to build a paid Full Calculations Trainer. That trainer is not available yet, and nothing is sold on this site. We never ask for payment details.

Independence and trademarks

PassTheCalcs is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by TDLR, PSI, or NFPA. National Electrical Code and NEC are registered trademarks of the National Fire Protection Association.

We name these organizations and the code only to describe what the practice is for. We do not reproduce the text or the tables of the code.

Educational use only

The questions and solutions are practice material. They are not legal, engineering or electrical advice, and they do not replace the adopted code, the official exam bulletin or the authority having jurisdiction. Always rely on those for real installations and for exam rules.

Do not use answers from this site to design, install or inspect real electrical work.

Accuracy

We check every code value we use by hand against the 2026 edition, and our software computes every answer. Mistakes are still possible. If you find one, please tell us at passthecalcs@gmail.com.

No guarantee of results

We do not promise that you will pass any exam. Your result on this check does not predict your exam result.

The site mentions a planned guarantee for the future trainer. It is not an offer. If we launch the trainer with a guarantee, it will come with its own written conditions, and only those conditions will apply.

Waitlist

Joining the waitlist is free. It is not a purchase, an order or a reservation, and it does not commit you or us to anything. We will email you if the trainer opens, unless you unsubscribed from our emails earlier. The planned price and features may change before launch.

Acceptable use

When you use the site, please do not:

• Scrape or copy the site, or access it with bots, scripts or other automated tools.
• Try to break, overload or get around the site's security or limits.
• Submit real exam questions or any other confidential exam content. We never ask for real exam questions.
• Enter an email address that is not yours.
• Use the site for anything illegal, or in a way that breaks exam rules.

We may block access that breaks these rules.

Our content

The questions, solutions, text, design and software on this site belong to PassTheCalcs. You may use them for your own exam preparation. Do not copy, sell or republish them without our written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PassTheCalcs and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, exam or license fees, or lost data, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to $50.

Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

Changes

We may change these terms, or change, pause or end the site, at any time. We will post the new terms here with a new date. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.
